We are now looking for a talented and responsible Assistant Financial Controller to join Page8 Hotel, St. Martins Place, London.

Key Responsibilities
As Assistant Financial Controller, you will
- Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by developing and providing advice and guidance on financial strategies
- Provide financial analysis and insight to optimise financial results of the operations, special projects, guiding other departments to achieve objectives
- Develop and control the company’s annual operating budget to ensure that financial targets are met and statutory regulations are complied with
- Coordinate and prepare accurate monthly forecasts of revenues/costs/CAPEX and cashflow projections for hotel operations
- Prepare the company's monthly reporting package and annual financial statements i.,e. P&L reporting and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that these are presented to Head Office accurately and in a timely fashion and drive monthly review meetings
- Provide analytical support and identify cost saving, productivity opportunities and financial sustainability
- Drive and be responsible for departmental KPIs to meet targets set
- Review Purchase Requisitions with independent analysis (including comparison with budget) and recommendation for management approvals
- Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company
- Monitor receivables from tenants and ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoicing
- Carry out due diligence on potential tenants, review tenancy agreements and related documents, facilitate required executions of documents and stipulated conditions
- Develop and maintain all necessary accounting systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company
- To ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist with annual internal and external audits
- Provide expert advice on all tax related matters and act as point of contact with UK tax advisers
- Process VAT returns, prepare bank reconciliations and analyse finance performance
- Process UK and international payments, taking the lead on UK policies and maintaining all aspects of HMRC
- Direct and lead the team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated, developed and able to carry out their responsibilities at a high standard
- Any other duties as and when required

As Assistant Financial Controller, you will have
- Preferably an undergraduate degree or working towards a professional accounting body certification
- Knowledge of hotel software or PMS eg Opera, Sage200 in addition to proficiency in IT/MS Excel
- Experience in hotel accounting with proven leadership qualities
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills with solid financial and commercial awareness in pursuit of business growth and success
- A track record of delivering accurate reporting (numbers sensitive), controlling budgets and forecasts and ability to demonstrate a control over purchase requisitions (reasonableness and justifications)
- Good understanding of owner and operating relationship
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong influencing presence across all levels
- High integrity and commitment to good governance
- Ability to multi-task with tight deadlines with an eye for detail
- High resilience, adaptability and a hands on, can do approach
